A modern day retelling of the story of Saint Francis.
Cecco, a young African man who served as a mercenary in his war torn home country, decides to abandon all comfort and goes to live off grid in the Italian Apennnine mountains. He befriends wild animals, survives by exchanging food for foraged items with farmers, and helps out at a remote monestary. A priest gets harmed during an accident with a local hunter, and the media quickly depicts Cecco as the ruthless culprit. A manhunt of epic proportions begins.
